SectorsIndustrial and energy contractors
Mechanical and fabrication contractors run a yard full of plant, a workshop full of kit and crews spread across refineries, power stations and terminals. GeoTrace tracks the plant, tags the kit and spools, and shows which van or lorry everything is on — so a shutdown starts with what it needs.
Built for
Construction and site managers
Mobilise for a shutdown knowing every van has its kit.
Yard and plant managers
Keep cranes, telehandlers and booms inspected and accounted for.
Project directors
See crews, kit and deliveries across every site in one place.
On a turnaround, every hour counts. Nobody wants to spend the first shift of one looking for a torque kit.
A crew mobilises at 5am for a shutdown three hours away. Halfway through the first shift, they find the kit they need never made it onto the van.
Welding sets, habitats and test kit move between site tool stores, vans and the workshop. Finding one means a round of calls to supervisors on three different sites.
Yard plant works hard and inspections run on calendars and paper. Hours are read by hand, if at all, and a missed thorough examination stops a machine dead.
Trackers on cranes, telehandlers, forklifts and boom platforms show each machine live in the yard, with its on hours and status. Tag fabricated spools and skids as they come out of the workshop, and see what’s ready to ship and what’s still waiting.

Fabrication yard · now
LiveEach tracked machine records every hour it runs, with no meter to read. Set service intervals by hours or time — including thorough examinations for lifting equipment — and GeoTrace alerts you before they’re due. Machines idle for a week stand out, and you’ll know if one moves out of hours.

Telehandler TH-04
Due soonAssign welding sets, bolting kits, threaders and test equipment to the van taking them. As the van is loaded, it detects the tagged kit on board, and anything assigned but not detected shows as missing — while it’s still in the workshop, not three hours away.

Van 07 · kit check
1 missingPut a plug-in gateway in each site tool store or container. It logs the tagged kit that’s in the store, so supervisors can see what’s there, what’s out on a van, and what hasn’t been seen for a couple of days.

Site tool store · Unit 3
LiveTagged spools are detected by the lorry carrying them, so you can see each batch leave the workshop and arrive on site. Every delivery is logged with a time and place, and anything that didn’t make it onto the load shows as missing before the lorry goes.

Delivery · spool batch 3
When emergent work needs a part made overnight, the van taking it is live on the map. The site team can see where it is and when it will arrive, without phoning the driver, and every run is in the trip history afterwards.

Hot-shot · flange set
LiveIt all sits in the same GeoTrace dashboard as your vehicle tracking, so there's nothing extra to learn.
Role- and team-based access, so each project or site sees its own vans, plant and kit.
Services coming up, kit not seen, idle plant and trackers not reporting, emailed at 7am.
Get an alert if a tracked machine moves while switched off, or someone tries to jam or disconnect it.
Every tag warns you well before its battery runs flat, so no kit quietly drops off the list.
Common questions
The questions that come up most when we talk to mechanical, fabrication and industrial contractors about GeoTrace.
Trackers suit powered plant — cranes, telehandlers, forklifts and boom platforms — where you want a live position, on hours and movement alerts. Welding sets, bolting kits, test equipment, habitats and fabricated spools can carry a low-cost tag, detected by your vans, lorries and gateways.
Yes. Set an interval by hours or time for each machine — for example a twelve-monthly thorough examination for a telehandler, or six-monthly for a boom platform — and GeoTrace alerts you before it’s due. Upcoming services and examinations also appear in the 7am summary email.
Not for vans and plant: they report on their own. For a site tool store or container, a plug-in gateway logs the tagged kit inside, so it needs a power socket. Everything can be adjusted remotely without a visit.
Yes. Tag the spools or skids you want to follow, assign them to the lorry taking them, and each one is logged as it leaves the workshop and arrives on site. Anything assigned to the load but not detected shows as missing before the lorry leaves.
Yes. Access is role- and team-based, so a project team sees its own vans, plant and kit, while head office and the yard see everything.
Not if they don’t want them to be. Drivers can switch on personal mode in the app for their own journeys, and GeoTrace hides the location detail for that trip.
Other sectors

We’ll fit a tracker to a machine in your yard, tag a van’s worth of kit, and show you hours, kit checks and alerts on the dashboard.
